The modern BWP Niedźwiedź infantry fighting vehicle is an innovative platform designed for the contemporary battlefield, prioritizing soldier survivability and operational effectiveness. The vehicle guarantees maximum safety for a three-person crew and up to eight dismounts thanks to STANAG-compliant armor and anti-mine seats that mitigate explosion forces. Protection is complemented by the OBRA-3 laser warning system integrated with smoke grenade launchers, as well as an advanced filtration and ventilation system safeguarding against chemical, biological, and radiological threats.
An Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) provides heating and air conditioning for the spacious interior regardless of the main engine. The efficient energy management system with a generator makes it easier to integrate future high-energy technologies.
The vehicle’s primary firepower comes from the ZSSW-30 remotely operated unmanned turret. It is equipped with a 30 mm cannon, a launcher for SPIKE anti-tank guided missiles, and ABM programmable ammunition, which is also effective against aerial targets. Advanced day/night sighting and observation instruments provide full situational awareness, allowing for precise target detection and engagement from within the safety of the armor.
