On April 28, 2023, the senators visited Huta Stalowa Wola SA, where they met with representatives of the company and the management board of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa and visited the steelworks. It is here that the Krab cannon-howitzers are produced, in which the cannon is automatically aimed at the target; Rak mortars, including tracked ones; ZSSW towers; Wisła and Langusta rocket launchers; new naval Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles; Baobab-K scatter minelaying vehicles, from which the minefield is compacted by means of a computer and the mines are programmed; and constructions for other military vehicles, e.g. Rosomak chassis. The members of KON and KGNiI visited the production department and saw the vehicles manufactured in the steelworks. The chairman of the Senate’s National Defense Committee, Jarosław Rusiecki, thanked the HSW president, Jan Szwedo, for the crew: “Your work affects the security of Poland. These products, which are the work of local engineers and scientists cooperating with Huta Stalowa Wola, are of high quality, but also, as shown by the war in Ukraine, high efficiency” – said Senator Rusiecki. Members of both committees met with the mayor of Stalowa Wola, Lucius Nadbereżny, with whom they talked about industrial plants and investments operating in the city. The president showed the senators a newly built nursery and kindergarten with a swimming pool and sensory rooms for therapy, which will accept 195 children from September, and the Senior Activity Center, which is used by a thousand elderly people a week. “The city is taking advantage of all the opportunities for development: firstly, economic development, i.e. huge industrial investments, and secondly, the development of urban infrastructure. This is an admirable vision of the city,” said Senator Maria Koc, chairwoman of the Committee on National Economy and Innovation.
